Leaf-Footed Bug in Monochrome

In this shot, I wanted to capture the intricate textures and almost architectural form of this leaf-footed bug I found while exploring Canowindra. I used a high-contrast monochrome conversion to emphasize the jagged silhouette and the striking striped patterns along the edge of its abdomen. By refining the highlights and shadows, I was able to bring out the subtle speckling on its body that often gets lost in color, turning this small garden visitor into a bold, graphic subject.
